报告人介绍Speaker Introduction：
Professor Jonathan Brooks has over thirty years of experience in the analysis of food and agricultural policies and in communicating policy research to decision-makers. He is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter and Adjunct Professor of International Economics at Johns Hopkins University SAIS Europe. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Agricultural Economics.
Previously, Professor Brooks was Head of the Agricultural and Resources Policies Division in the Trade and Agriculture Directorate at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), where he led work on agricultural policy, climate change, natural resource use, and the flagship Agricultural Policy Monitoring and Evaluation Report. Before that, he headed the Agri-food Trade and Markets Division, overseeing research on food systems, agricultural trade, and the annual OECD–FAO Agricultural Outlook.
Prior to joining the OECD in 1999, he was a Lecturer at the University of Reading. He received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from the University of California, Davis, an M.S. in Economics from Purdue University, and a B.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics. He also served as President of the Agricultural Economics Society (2022–2023).

This workshop is designed for Master’s and Ph.D. students, as well as other researchers who wish to strengthen their academic writing and publication skills. Drawing on Professor Brooks’ extensive experience as an internationally recognized researcher, former OECD senior official, and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Agricultural Economics, the workshop will cover:
·Publication strategies for academic research
·Writing high-quality journal articles
·Selecting suitable journals for publication
·The logical development of a research paper, from the initial idea through to publication
·Interactive question-and-answer session with the speaker
